Designed for handling; each course varies in its radius of turns (increasing and decreasing) and length of straight-aways. Snow compaction is to customer specifications.
Each course was designed with safe run off and maintained with no snow berms.
#4 (1.1 mile) is lighted (low level) for 24-hour test capability.
#6 Slush Pool
11.5' wide X 164' long; depth is customer specified.
This unique course is operated in temperatures from –30ºC to –7ºC. Vehicles are driven into the heated slush trough and onto course #4 autocross to pickup snow on the underbody components. Adjacent Building #300 supports inspection and photography of underbody snow and ice build up. After completing the prescribed replications, the vehicle(s) can be soaked at ambient or in an
AET cold cell, after which effects can be evaluated with a drive and cold inspection in Building #300.
Vehicles can be de-iced in AET’s high-pressure car wash for a retest.

Real world off roading in semi-rough terrain, featuring ice and snow. Several grades between 15% and 30%. Man made moguls, log crossings and mounds. All severe events are optional “drive around.” Course is restricted to 4X4 vehicles, daylight only.
#16 Asphalt VDA
48' X 2,050' with 330' diameter circle asphalt VDA.
Provides dry high mu test and tuning capability along side AET’s many low mu surfaces.
Bordered by continuous safe run off area.

#17 AWD Course
300' X 2,000'
The main winter elements are here in one course: ice, packed snow, deep snow and two small hills with multiple grades.
The right amount of off-road severity for all-wheel-drive test and evaluation.
#18 Camber Course
This course is unique to the AET facility. It consists of 30' X .7 miles of packed snow handling lanes that transition into a multi-grade 400' X 800' VDA producing multiple camber angles.
